Tax Reform
Need For A Stronger Tax Code
Economic inequality is pulling this country apart. Joe Biden states we need stronger tax code that rewards a middle class that’s been cut out of decades of economic growth—not just the wealthy, who have gotten too many tax breaks for too long.
Joe Biden would "take back one year of the tax cuts for Americans who make over a million dollars a year, and put this money in a dedicated Homeland Security and Public Safety Trust Fund to implement the 9/11 Commission recommendations and invest in law enforcement." Biden supports a balanced budget amendment. Biden is intending to reverse President Trump’s tax cuts for the super-wealthy and corporations. Biden said at the first Democrat presidential debate in June that the one thing he agrees on is we can make massive cuts in the $1.6 trillion dollars in tax loopholes out there, and he would be going about eliminating Donald Trump’s tax cuts for the wealthy. We need to eliminate special tax breaks that reward special interests. We need to get rid of the capital gains loophole for multi-millionaires. In the Brookings speech Biden said that we are giving hedge fund millionaires tax breaks, but we can’t find the money to give families a real tax break for child care. The former vice president has moved to position himself as a champion of the middle-class, without isolating wealthier Americans in the process. Joe Biden says that when the middle-class does well, everybody does very, very well. Under Joe Biden, the middle class will pay less in taxes, and people making a million dollars or more will begin to contribute slightly more. Joe Biden wants to extend permanently the middle-class tax cut.
